Trash the Dress Friday: Under The Sea

I love looking at wedding photos. I could literally spend hours on end doing it. But there is something about the endless creativity of TTD sessions that peaks my interest even more. Wedding days are stressful and filled with many eyes. A TTD session has a much more intimate feel and really has the ability to capture the personality of the couple. When I sent out a call for help to find some awesome TTD sessions Steph of Bubble Rock Studios pointed me towards Hawaiian based photographer Mark Holladay of Holladay Photo. This could very well be one of my favorite sessions to date. It has this beautiful ethereal quality and it is super unique. The photography is absolutely incredible. I can imagine these shots in huge prints hanging in their home. My only regret is not being able to see the whole shoot!

Absolutely mind blowingly awesome, no? A sign of a good photographer: Can shoot incredible photos UNDER water! Would you take a dive in your wedding gown?

Thank you Mark for letting me feature this incredible session!

Trash the Dress sessions like this one make me actually consider doing one myself even though I’m generally not into them!

  2. wow, she looks like a mermaid!! i would never trash my dress but i love looking at others! :)

Love this shoot, everything about it. These shots are amazing!

  5. i’m torn with the whole “trash the dress” shoots…the images look amazing in the water but i dont think i would want to ruin my dress. maybe w/ a dress double

  6. I was torn too, absolutely against the idea of Trashing my Dress originally. But the more I look at these shoots the more I want to do it. I think you can do something fun without ruining it. No major mud or burning for me, but I think a little dust or water I could handle. Even if you just go to an awesome location that you had no time for on your actual wedding day.

  7. OhMahGah (that’s me not being able to say full words). How beautiful is that! It looks like an ad for perfume or something.

Since seeing those shots and featuring them on my blog a little while back, I have let amazing photographers from branch prat a (Sofia and Andre) that we’re so doing a water shoot :) – I’m not afraid of a bit of water. I agree with Alicia – mud, paint or fire? No! But a bit of sand or water – why not.
Can’t wait for our session and yes, I’m in love with this shoot. Love love it. Glad you liked it too Alicia x
