A few weeks ago I saw a post wedding shoot on Magnolia Rouge which was referred to as an Encore shoot. I absolutely loved that name as TTD generally scares people even though most times the dress does not get trashed. I received comments and even emails from people telling me how wasteful and irresponsible TTD sessions are and then it is followed up by links where people can donate their gowns. To that I say- lighten up and also I am all about and even encourage recycling or donating dresses however that rarely happens due to the sentimental attachment brides feel for their dress. So in a sense a post wedding shoot actually gets a little more life out of that dress before it gets stuck in a box in a closet somewhere. In addition after these shoots, once cleaned the dress is as good as new and then can be donated, sold or recycled. (Plus how many of you brides out there went and looked at used dresses?) I just thought I’d get that out so I can stop getting hate mail. For those of you that take issue with the name of these shoots, just start thinking of them as Encore Shoots. Moving on…
This shoot takes place at Towne Hall Farm where Judy, the Bride’s horse, stays. The setting is beautiful, Judy is fantastic of course, and the lighting is to die for. Photographers Wes and Liz Weber continued to test the limits of this couple and they continued to surprise them by being willing to do just about anything. What started as a sweet shoot with Judy turned into a soaking wet, mud fest. There is a great slideshow of that includes more images from this fun shoot, definitely check it out after you see these photos! Encore Please…
I’ll be honest as much as I love TTD sessions, I do not think I have the gumption to roll around in mud in my dress so I give this Bride major props! The photos are beautiful, I can assure you they had a lot of fun, and I bet they do not regret doing this shoot! If you are feeling too attached to your dress to have a little fun in it, wait until your 1st or 2nd anniversary when some of those emotions have worn off and you will have realized it isn’t doing anything good sitting in your closet!
Have a great weekend everyone! We hope to finish the LOOOONG process of moving that has taken over this past week! And then the unpacking begins… Who wants to come help? Oh and watch out for tricksters, it is April Fool’s Day!
