Yay for Spring!

After a FREAK winter storm this past weekend that brought some 26 inches of snow to areas near us and wreaked utter havoc on my newly planted garden, I am craving all things spring! Today marks the first official day and as I sit here in a sweater and thick socks, I can only daydream about the better days to come! If you are suffering from late winter blues, this bright summery wedding will likely cheer you up!

Melissa Dunstan Photography sent over this cheery wedding and it seems perfectly fitting for a cold day like today! I know Melissa is even colder than I am as she lives in the area that got the 26 inches of fresh powder. Melissa actually served as a bridesmaid in this wedding and the couple are dear friends of hers. Kristen, Melissa’s assistant, was the photographer behind the lens for this beautiful wedding. Melissa has a beautiful post on her blog about this couple and the friendship they all have. Head on over to read it in her words, anything I could say wouldn’t compare!

It just so happens to be the bride’s, Carrie, birthday today! Happy Birthday to you Carrie!

How are you spending the first day of Spring?

Tuesday Shoesday: Wearing Your Heart on Your Sole.

As if this week weren’t exciting enough, I wrote a little article that was published in a local wedding publication. 928 Brides is a mini-bridal magazine that caters specifically to brides in Northern Arizona. The editor and brains behind the publication is Cindy Reeves who is also an incredible wedding photographer. Cindy is as sweet as can be and she is also super smart as she saw a great need for more information on Northern Arizona Weddings. For any brides who have tried to plan one, it can be difficult as there aren’t nearly the resources available that brides have in Phoenix. The publication is her side project and she is able to put out one edition per year. I was incredibly honored when she asked me to write a piece on how couples could incorporate charity into their big day. The magazine is free for brides and available at several locations around Northern Az including Prescott, Sedona and Flagstaff. I only foresee it growing and someday becoming THE resource for planning brides in this locale. I was even more thrilled when I finally got to see the edition and saw that she chose my story as a cover story. The goal has always been to inspire others to find small ways to redistribute funds or make small efforts to give back through their wedding. I am so grateful that she is helping me achieve that mission! I highly encourage local brides to pick up a copy as there are several other great articles on green weddings, involving your groom, and various other topics written by local vendors.

Moving on… can you believe it is February today?! I mean wasn’t it just Christmas? For those of you out there planning on achieving goals this year or fulfilling your NY’s resolutions, don’t delay this year is moving full speed ahead! For those that are wedding planning, it is time to start checking some things off the list! I can’t help you with much, although I’d be up to try if you had any suggestions that I could accomplish through cyber space, but I can help you with shoes.

I love these super feminine shoes in this gorgeous blush color. I love the gold heals and the knot/bow detail. But it is what’s on the bottom that I love the most.

All Luichiny heals have that signature red heart on the bottom which I think is adorable especially for wedding shoes. Or Valentine’s Shoes. Or first date shoes. Listen, I just think it is adorable. You could even write your initials in there if you were wearing these on your wedding! It could make for a super cute pic!
