Happy Tuesday! I am kicking off a new series today and would love any and all feedback you might have! Most of you are probably familiar with Inspiration Boards which are generally used to help pull an idea or a look together before you plan a wedding, an event or even for interior design. They are used in the wedding world by Brides and vendors alike to get an idea of what their vision might look like. Ours will be a bit different as the original inspiration will be a charity or cause as opposed to a color palette or theme. My hope is to show you how you could incorporate your favorite cause into your wedding in a subtle, understated way. As with all boards, my hope is that they will be visually inspiring but I also hope that the charity will inspire you too in an entirely different way thus the reason I am calling it an Inspirational Board! If you have any favorite organizations that you would love to see pulled into an event or wedding, let me know and I will see what I can craft up!
For the first addition, I decided to use Camp Soaring Eagle and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as my inspiration considering I just spent my weekend volunteering with both groups. CSE’s mission is to heal children with laughter or at least give them a hefty dose of it. They are all about creating a fun and safe environment for unhealthy children. Camp Soaring Eagle’s logo is orange so I used that as the base color but I really wanted to go for a fun, whimsical look filled with a rainbow of colors. Children love color and they are super fun. If you wanted to support an organization involving children, my suggestion would be to use color, fun details like balloons and pinwheels, and have extra activities like photo booths or games even so people could really have a good time!
Consider explaining your cause to your guests via your invitations, place cards, or programs. You don’t have to raise money to make an impact, simply spreading awareness can go a long way for non-profit organizations. In the case of an organization like CSE, you could print out photos of the children who have attended, share a bit about their story and let that serve as a table number. Your guests will likely be touched by your willingness to make an impact on the lives of children through your wedding.
Let me know what you think about this new series and what other charities you’d like to see become the inspiration!

Love, love, LOVE this idea. I can’t wait to see what else you’ll come up with! It’s inspiring in SO many ways.
Love, love, love, love!!!! You should whip one up based on animal shelters (cough I have pictures cough).
I SO LOVE this idea!!!!!! Here in Atlanta, I help plan an annual fundaraiser for Adoption Discovery to raise awareness on the subject of the children that need adopting and the parents that want to but can’t afford to or don’t know how. I think this is a great idea. I even have an inspiration board for my personal life and goals, so I’m all for it!
You hit it out of the park right out of the gate! Nicely done.
Great feature idea, Alicia. Such wonderful causes ~ and what a colourful, fun board!
Scorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre! My dear you are amazing! I’m not sure how we got so lucky to know such an amazing giving person but I’m sure we are all happy we do. This board and the reasoning behind it is just as beautiful as you you are! XO
