Thirsty Thursday: Champagne Punch

Burlap Thursday is taking a little vacay this week to make room for another installment of  Thirsty Thursday! Don’t you worry it will be back next week in all it’s grandeur. I may even have some DIY burlap projects up my sleeve if you are lucky! But as the heat swelters on and backyard barbeques start to ramp up speed I figured a refreshing cocktail may be just what you need. This particular one comes from Martha Stewart and I love the versatility of it. It sounds delicious but it also is gorgeous. I dare say it has this classy look to it that might make it a likely contender at your wedding as a signature cocktail. However it would look just as lovely dressed down during a leisurely backyard gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 thinly sliced peach
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup Simple Syrup
  • 1 bottle champagne or other sparkling white wine

Directions

  1. In a pitcher, combine ice, peach, raspberries, blueberries, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Slowly pour in champagne or other sparkling white wine.

*If you aren’t a champagne/wine fan you could probably substitute that for a light beer. Of course it would alter the flavor but if you are a beer fan you’d surely enjoy it more! If it’s gross don’t tell Martha that I suggested it.

  3. I am a big champagne fan! I loved your suggestion for the beer and about Martha Stewart! LOL She doesn’t strike me as the beer type but I bet it would taste fine with beer! Great way to class up a tail gate party I’d say!

  5. Yummm! I LOVE “Thirsty Thursdays!”
