One of the biggest obstacles to giving back is that people just don’t have the extra cash to do so. Another issue might just be that people don’t think about it on a daily basis and a good intention to give to charity might get pushed to the back burner due to the activities of daily life. That is why the people at Give Back decided to take the thinking and the sacrifice out of giving, and make it simple. It goes like this… see if you follow me: Shop online and a part of what you purchase goes to charity. Easy enough, right? Give Back is partnered with over 400 retailers that you likely already shop at, once you register (which is completely free) and access the retailers through the Give Back webpage, the company will automatically give a percentage of your purchase to the charity of your choice. When you register, you create what they refer to as a foundation. You can add the charities that you are passionate about to your foundation, you can donate money yourself, you can ask friends and family to donate money, or you can just shop.
As you shop or donate, the money will collect in your Foundation account and you can decide when you want to disburse it to your selected charities. There are no fees to you or to the charity, meaning all the money that accumulates thanks to your online purchases goes straight to charity. Buying a new pair of jeans never felt so good!
They are currently running a promotion called 100 Days of Giving. Through July 16th they are giving away $1000 at random to one member’s foundation to give to the charity of their choice. In addition when you register you start earning points and when you encourage your friends to sign up you get even more points. The person with the most points at the end of the 100 Days of Giving will get $50,000 for their foundation! Just by spreading the word, you could get $50,000 to give to charity! How fun is that? If you shop online anyway, there is no reason not to sign up and let the companies involved donate on your behalf! There is no sacrifice, no thinking, just shopping.
So what are you waiting for? Go sign up and start shopping!!
