Kyle and I have said more than once that our favorite part about this wedding planning process is all the amazing people we are meeting along the way. If it’s possible our amazing photographer continues to impress us each day. Melissa Dunstan has a philanthropic spirit that can not be matched it seems. The more I find out about what she is involved with, the more I am inspired. This weekend she has donated a photo session to be auctioned off at Lunafest in Flagstaff. Her photography is absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. The opportunity to get a session AND donate to charity is a perfect combo.
Here are some details about the event which sounds really fun by the way. Lunafest Flagstaff is a fund raising event for the Breast Cancer Fund and Girls on the Run of Coconino County. There is a matinee event (2pm) and an evening (6pm)event. The evening event will showcase festival films, live music, a silent auction, and hors devours. Each event takes place this Saturday, March 6th. The cost is $5 for the matinee event and $10 for the evening event. That is a bargain for a fun, unique event that benefits charity and supports women! Lunafest was created by the makers of the Luna health bar. The goal was to showcase women filmmakers, bring awareness to women’s issues and support worthy causes. The festival features 10 short films that tell stories about women.
Girls on the Run of Coconino county is an organization that uses running to build character development in girls from 3rd-8th grade. It teaches the girls to celebrate their bodies, honor their voices, recognize their gifts and activate their inner power. Sounds pretty amazing to me! With teen pregnancy, eating disorders, and other risky behaviors on the rise, a dose of self esteem and a little exercise are critical for young girls today. Check out their website to see how you can get involved!
If you were looking for a fun girls night out this weekend, I think this is it!
