As the owner of two adorable beagles, I had to show some love to this organization that rescues beagles and finds loving homes for them. The quote on the top of their website reads, “In a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.” I couldn’t agree more. I grew up with animals in the house both cats and dogs and I couldn’t imagine my life without them. Charlie was the first major joint purchase between Kyle and I. He did not grow up with many pets so sharing the experience with him was really fun. Charlie was an amazingly perfect puppy. He was pretty calm and never chewed up anything. He completely ruined Kyle’s perception of what puppies are really like so about a year later when we got Lily, he was shocked. Lily was the average puppy who chewed on things, cried all night, and got into various forms of trouble. Anyone who has a pet knows that they absolutely do have personalities and Charlie and Lily are pretty close to opposites. They make a good pair though and I am grateful to have them around.
Anyway back to Beagles of Arizona Rescue Club(BARC), this organization is truly dedicated to finding homes for dogs. They do various events throughout the year to raise money and awareness for their cause. They run a foster program which helps to keep them in business. They have various forms of volunteer opportunities so if you are in the Phoenix area and interested, you should check out their website.

They have this poem listed on their website and if it doesn’t make you want to adopt a dog, I don’t know what will:
I ADOPTED YOUR PET TODAY
I adopted your pet today - the one you left at the pound.
The one you had for ten years – and no longer wanted around.
I adopted your pet today – did you know that he’s lost weight?
Did you know he’s scared and depressed and seems to have lost all faith?
I adopted your pet today – he had fleas and a little cold.
Guess you don’t care what shape he’s in - you abandoned him I am told.
I adopted your pet today – were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies – or was there NO reason he could stay?
I adopted your pet today – he doesn’t play or even eat much.
I guess he’s very sad inside and It’ll take time for him to trust.
I adopted your pet today – and here he is going to stay.
He’s found his FOREVER home – and a warm bed in which to lay.
I adopted your pet today – and shall give him all that he will need.
Patience, love, and security – so he can forget your selfish deed.
